Brad Pitt Ready to Star in Sony Pictures' New Film 'BULLET TRAIN'

Kapanlagi.com - Brad Pitt is reportedly going to star in Sony Pictures' latest action and thriller film. The former husband of Angelina Jolie will collaborate with director David Leitch. Leitch is already popular for his works in the action thriller genre, such as DEADPOOL 2 and FAST & FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW. This film will be Leitch's latest project, following his well-known works.

Bullet Train is not the first collaboration between Brad Pitt and David Leitch. This film will mark their eighth collaboration. Their first collaboration was in 1999's Fight Club where Leitch was a replacement actor for Pitt, followed by The Mexico in 2001, Ocean's Eleven and Spy Game, where in the latter two films, Leitch also contributed to the action choreography.

In 2004, Leitch once again became a replacement actor for Pitt in the film Troy. Not to mention Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005. Then reunited in 2018 in Deadpool 2 which successfully grossed over 700 million US dollars globally, where Pitt played a cameo as Vanisher and Leitch became the director.

Brad Pitt himself has just won an Oscar award for Best Supporting Actor from the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood directed by Quentin Tarantino. Bullet Train will be one of Brad Pitt 's thriller films throughout his career.

Many of the films he starred in were successful action films, such as Ocean's Eleven which made it the best heist film of all time starring Brad Pitt. Not to mention Mr. & Mrs. Smith which led Brad Pitt to finally marry Angelina Jolie, although it ended in 2016.

David Leitch is not the original director of this film. The founder of a replacement casting company named 87eleven took over the film from Antoine Fuqua who initially developed this project with Kat Samic from Fuqua Films. The support from Sony Pictures gives hope that this film can start shooting by the end of this year. The film is reportedly mostly set in one location, so the crew and cast can shoot with the current government regulations.

Screenwriter Zak Olkewicz adapted the Japanese bestselling novel titled Maria Beetle by Kotara Isaka. In the novel itself, it tells the story of 5 assassins trapped on a bullet train traveling fast from Tokyo to Marioka with several stops. They realized that their missions were not related. So, who will survive the bullet train? And what awaits them at the final stop?

Publishing company Harvill Secker separately announced that the novel Bullet Train will be released in England next year. This highly anticipated film is likely to be released in 2021. We are also looking forward to seeing who will be Brad Pitt's co-star in this action film.
