Interview with Chris Hemsworth About New Film EXTRACTION, Complexity of New Role as a Mercenary

Kapanlagi.com - It didn't take long after we saw Chris Hemsworth's action in AVENGERS: ENDGAME and MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL. The Australian-born actor is present in his latest action film EXTRACTION which will be released on Netflix on April 24. As for his ability to act in action films, Chris can guarantee the satisfaction of the audience. However, in this new film, he wants more than just fighting.

In his role as Tyler Rake, a mercenary, Chris wants to show a deeper side of his character. He feels lucky because he got a script that supports his desire. "There is complexity in the character that I play. On one hand, he is a fearless mercenary. However, he is also an emotionally wounded person," he said in an interview with KapanLagi with Chris and Sam Hargrave the director via telephone, Wednesday (15/4).

Tyler is portrayed as someone who is secretive about his past. He ran away from the bitter reality in the past that we will not explain here KLovers.

"What I like about the scenario is that there is a chance for this character to rise, the presence of the child (Ovi) becomes some kind of redemption for him. I am grateful that Sam and Jim included that detail in the film. So it's not just showing spectacular action scenes, which I have been waiting for from Sam, but also the emotional side is highlighted here," he explained.

1. EXTRACTION Synopsis

EXTRACTION tells the journey of Tyler Rake, a fearless mercenary in the black market. One day, an imprisoned international crime lord hires Tyler to rescue his kidnapped son.

However, in the dark criminal world, where there is a lot of arms trading and drug smuggling, this difficult mission becomes more deadly and will forever change Tyler's and the child's life.

Despite the depth of the characters, an action film remains an action film filled with thrilling action scenes. In this film, Chris and Sam have prepared captivating action scenes for the audience. 

One of the things they revealed is a 12-minute action scene that appears to be shot without any breaks. 

"There must be no mistakes to achieve perfection. If we have successfully filmed 99 percent but there is a mistake, we have to start over. The process is truly intense and a little worrisome. However, at the end of filming, we can feel how relieved it is to do it all," he explained. 

In addition, Chris was also pushed to perform more than in his previous films. Although he has already acted as Thor or an MIB agent, his role as Tyler here brings its own challenges.

"I was pushed to perform more here. Not to mention the temperature of 40 degrees Celsius there, while holding weapons, there are many explosions and burning objects. We run, we fight, and we roll around," he said.
