Get Ready for Nostalgia! Demi Lovato Will Comeback in CAMP ROCK 3, Check Out the Airing Schedule

Kapanlagi.com - Demi Lovato officially returns to play Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock 3, with the announcement coming just before the premiere in Burbank, California. This news comes as a surprise to fans as it was previously mentioned that she would not reprise her role in the sequel.

Demi's return reconnects the journey of the character that boosted her name since the first Camp Rock aired on Disney Channel in June 2008. Mitchie is a role that is synonymous with the early phase of her music career and has become an important part of fans' memories.

"As the campers compete for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, various revelations, and love stories," reads the official synopsis of the film.

1. A Look Back at Mitchie Torres' Journey

In the previous two films, Mitchie is portrayed as a teenager aspiring to be a singer and songwriter. She attends Camp Rock, a music camp for talented teens. Her mother, Connie, played by Maria Canals-Barrera, works as a cook at the camp.

In the first film, Mitchie's life changes when the famous pop singer Shane Gray accidentally hears her voice. That moment becomes the turning point that alters Mitchie's days at Camp Rock.

Shane then tries to find out who owns that voice. From there, the story of Mitchie and Shane develops, filled with friendship, romance, competition, and the journey of chasing dreams at Camp Rock.

Mitchie's character is also closely associated with Demi Lovato's musical legacy. The song "This Is Me" that she performed with Joe Jonas successfully reached the 9th position on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 2008 and remained on the chart for seven weeks.

2. Demi Lovato and the Returning Cast

Demi's return in Camp Rock 3 becomes even more exciting considering that Disney had previously announced she would not be present as Mitchie. This change was confirmed ahead of the premiere in Burbank.

When this project was first announced in September 2025, Disney Branded Television only mentioned Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Kevin Jonas as the returning cast members. The three will reprise their roles as Shane Gray, Nate Gray, and Jason Gray from the fictional band Connect 3.

Demi, along with the Jonas Brothers, is also trusted as a co-executive producer on the project. Their involvement behind the scenes accompanies the return of the iconic Camp Rock character lineup.

Camp Rock 3 follows Connect 3 as they face a major problem after losing their opening band for their reunion tour. To find the right replacement, they return to Camp Rock to scout for new talent that could become the next star.

The camp atmosphere becomes even more vibrant as participants compete for the chance to perform as the opening act for Connect 3. The competition heats up and tests the friendships of the campers, as depicted in the official film synopsis.

The film introduces a new generation of campers with diverse characters. There’s Sage, who is brave and determined; Desi, Sage's laid-back brother; and Rosie, known as a talented cello player.

Additionally, there’s Cliff, a drummer with a unique playing style; Callie, nicknamed the queen of choreography; Madison, an influencer with a somewhat intimidating personality; and Fletch, who embodies the bad boy at Camp Rock.

The presence of these new characters makes Camp Rock 3 not just rely on nostalgia. The story is also aimed at a new generation, with different conflicts, friendships, and rivalries.

4. Release Date and Streaming Platform

Camp Rock 3 is scheduled to air on Disney Channel on August 13, 2026. The day after, the film will be available for streaming on Disney+.

Demi Lovato's return as Mitchie Torres is touted as one of the biggest draws of the film. After years, fans can finally see the character that is closely associated with the early part of Demi's career once again.

In addition to Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, a new lineup of campers is ready to bring a different flavor to Camp Rock. The announcement of Demi's return was made ahead of the premiere, which took place in Burbank, California.
