List of Science-Fiction Films Coming in 2021

1. CHAOS WALKING

Based on the popular YA trilogy by Patrick Ness, this film presents a world that has changed due to a virus. Where the virus has wiped out all women on earth and only left men, it turns out to cause a great uproar in the world. Starring Tom Holland as Todd Hewitt, a teenager whose world changes when he meets a woman named Viola Eade (Daisy Ridley). This film will be released on March 5th.

2. MORBIUS

This film will tell the origin story of Spider-Man's enemy. In general, this film tells the journey of Michael Morbius, a scientist who has had a blood disorder since childhood. In order to cure his disease, Morbius does many things for his recovery. Starring Jared Leto, this film will show some relationships between one Spider-Man villain and another villain. The film is scheduled to be released on March 19, 2021.

3. FREE GUY

This film directed by Shawn Levy will feature Ryan Reynolds as the main character named Guy. It is told that Guy is a non-player character in a game. Until one day he realizes that he is in the game world and becomes a hero to prevent the game from being shut down. This film will feature many stars like Emmy Jodie Comer, Taika Waititi, and other stars. FREE GUY will be released on May 21, 2021.

4. GODZILLA VS.KONG

This film is the result of a crossover sequel from GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTER and KONG: SKULL ISLAND, which will show how these monsters and King Kong fight each other. Meanwhile, humans try to destroy both of them because they are considered a threat to human survival. This film will make its debut on HBO Max and theaters on May 21, 2021.

5. INFINITE

A Sci-fi film by Jason Reitman will tell the story of a man who has the ability to revive memories of past lives. This leads him to join other pre-infinite beings to use their abilities for the good of humanity. This film will feature Mark Wahlberg playing Evan Michaels. INFINITE is scheduled to be released on May 28th.

6. GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE

An iconic film from 1989 that is being remade, following the story of a family who moves to a small town to discover a connection between the family and ghost catchers. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts will reprise their roles from the original film, joined by Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon.

7. VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE

Directed by Andy Serkis, this film brings back Tom Hardy as the classic Spider-Man villain. This time, he will face the powerful serial killer known as Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson. The film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.

8. THE TOMORROW WAR

Director Chris McKay has taken on the challenge of creating a military science fiction film titled THE TOMORROW WAR. It is set in a world where humans have lost the war against alien invasion, but scientists have found a potential way to win. By recruiting soldiers from the past, Chris Pratt will play a major role in this film, alongside Yvone Strahovski, Betty Gilpin, and JK Simmons. The film is scheduled to be released on July 23, 2021.

9. DUNE

After experiencing release delays, this film has finally found its way. It will premiere on HBO Max and in theaters on October 1, 2021. A film starring Timothée Chalamet will lead a battle to control the desert planet Arrakis. The film will also feature Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem completing the star-studded cast.

10. THE MATRIX 4

Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson, and Daniel Bernhardt will return to perform their spectacular actions in THE MATRIX 4. Directed by Lana Wachowski, this science fiction film will be released on December 22, 2021. As for the story details of this film, there is still very little information, but if following the previous sequels, it will depict the process of how Neo and Trinity will be resurrected. Then it will portray the restoration of world peace during the machine war.
