George Clooney Refuses to Be James Bond, Recommends Idris Elba

Kapanlagi.com - Daniel Craig revealed that NO TIME TO DIE will be his last film playing as James Bond, the British secret agent. Hearing this, James Bond fans started speculating who will be the next James Bond. Many fans feel that George Clooney is suitable to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.

However, George Clooney feels that he is not the right person to be James Bond. According to him, he is already too old to be the main actor in action films, especially James Bond. George also has several reasons why he is not suitable to be James Bond. Instead of him, Idris Elba is much more suitable to be the next British secret agent.

1. Not Meeting the Criteria

When asked about being James Bond, he immediately refused. The reason for his refusal is not because he is not interested, but George feels that he does not meet the criteria of the James Bond character.

"First of all, I am already 60 years old, so it's a bit too late to become James Bond." Secondly, isn't James Bond a British character? The closest thing I've ever done with a hero-themed film is BATMAN AND ROBIN (1997), and you can see how it turned out," he said about the possibility of him playing James Bond.

2. Idris Elba as James Bond

The film BATMAN AND ROBIN (1997) has always been a joke for George Clooney. The film is considered as one of the failed superhero films and he played Batman in that film.  Not wanting to repeat the same mistake, he recommended Idris Elba as the next James Bond.

"He is elegant, I think he does a good job. He is the person I would definitely call (for James Bond), very certain, but overall, I don't think it should be me," he concluded.

Idris Elba has indeed made a name for himself in the action film industry. Playing Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Elba is the person recommended by George to be the next James Bond. Being 48 years old and British, it seems that George made the right choice. If Elba becomes James Bond, he will be the first black person to portray the character of James Bond.
