'WANDAVISION' Becomes Marvel's First Project to Air in 2021

Starring Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/Wanda and Paul Betanny as Vision, this series will be filled with lots of action just like other Marvel films. One of the actors in WANDAVISION said that this series will be action-packed and wrapped in comedy and sadness.

Teyonah Parris, who plays adult Monica Rembeau in WANDAVISION, said so. The character Monica Rembeau previously appeared in the film CAPTAIN MARVEL as the daughter of a pilot and a friend of Captain Marvel.

Teyonah Parris told Screen Rant, "I am very happy to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And playing adult Monica Rembeau, who is very skilled in Marvel comics, is something I still can't believe. WANDAVISION is an action-packed series mixed with comedy. I'm sure the audience will be happy."

1. Other Old Characters Appear

In addition to the arrival of Teyonah Parris as adult Monica Rembeau, WANDAVISION also introduces characters that have appeared in previous Marvel films. This time it's Darcy Lewis played by Kat Dennings. Darcy Lewis is a political communications student who interns at Erik Selvig's workplace and becomes Jane Foster's assistant, Thor's girlfriend.

Darcy Lewis, played by Kat Dennings, last appeared in the film THOR: THE DARK WORLD after previously appearing in the first film THOR. Recently, Kat Dennings gave an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "As far as I know, Disney will try to release it (WANDAVISION) this year," she said during the interview.

"Anyone who likes the character Darcy in previous Marvel films (THOR and THOR: THE DARK WORLD) will surely be happy with what Marvel has done for Darcy," she added.

2. Starting a New Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

With the Covid-19 pandemic throughout 2020, the release schedule for Marvel films was delayed. Initially, Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was supposed to begin with the film BLACKWIDOW. However, the film had to be postponed until 2021, leaving the series WANDAVISION to be released as the opener for 2021.
