WONDER WOMAN 1984 Officially Released in Theaters and HBO MAX This Year!

This is a history for Warner Bros, as for the first time they release a film on 2 different platforms. "For the first time, WONDER WOMAN 1984 will be released in theaters and exclusively on HBO MAX on December 25," wrote the account. They also added a note that WONDER WOMAN 1984 via HBO MAX is only available in the United States at no additional cost.

1. Spoiling Fans

The director, Patty Jenkins, said that this decision was made to spoil the fans, especially in times like this. "We love this film as much as you love yourselves (the fans), so we hope this film can entertain and lighten the burden during the holiday season," said Patty.

Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman, added, "This was not an easy decision, and we never thought we would hold back the release schedule for this long, but COVID-19 has shaken our world."

2. Full of Hope

With the release of WONDER WOMAN 1984 on 2 different platforms, namely theaters and HBO MAX, it means that Warner Bros has allowed the potential loss of becoming a box office film if it is postponed to 2021. On the other hand, the release of this film starring Gal Gadot has the opportunity to increase HBO MAX users. Warner Bros hopes this film will attract its fans to become HBO MAX users so they can watch WONDER WOMAN 1984 during the upcoming holiday.

Jason Kilar, the CEO of WarnerMedia (the parent company of Warner Bros), hopes that the release of this film on two different platforms can still match the box office record of WONDER WOMAN (2017). WONDER WOMAN (2017) was watched by 4 million people in the United States on the first day of its release.

"Will it happen again on December 25th with the film WONDER WOMAN 1984 in theaters and HBO MAX?" said Jason. "We really want to know soon, we are doing everything to provide everything for the fans," added the 49-year-old CEO.

Finally, after being delayed for so long from June 2020, WONDER WOMAN 1984 will now be released on December 25, 2020 in theaters and HBO MAX exclusively in the United States.
