Sneak Peek of Cheetah, the Main Enemy of 'WONDER WOMAN 1984'

After the postponement drama that happened yesterday, Warner Bros confirmed that Gal Gadot and company will soon be released online and offline this year. WONDER WOMAN 1984 will be Warner Bros' first film to be released offline in theaters and online through HBO Max.

In WONDER WOMAN (2017), we were introduced to the character of Ares, the God of War. Ares was able to make Wonder Woman lose her trust in humanity. But in the end, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) proved that humanity is worth saving.

For DC comic fans, the character Cheetah is famous for her hatred towards Wonder Woman. Cheetah, who envies Wonder Woman's easy and enjoyable life, always tries to defeat Wonder Woman.

The existence of the Amazons and Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth is a mystery to ordinary humans. The presence of Wonder Woman, a descendant of the Amazonian goddess who lives in the human world, makes Cheetah, who was once an archaeologist, always hunt Wonder Woman. In addition, Wonder Woman's life, which gets everything like a normal human's dream, makes Cheetah more interested in defeating Wonder Woman.

Cheetah first appeared in comics in the 1940s. At that time, her name was Priscilla Rich, an ordinary woman with a split personality and jealous of Wonder Woman's life. She doesn't have superpowers, but when her other personality emerges, Rich transforms into a terrifying figure.

Then, after the event Crisis on Infinite Earth, Cheetah was reintroduced to the public with a different story. Now she is named Barbara Minerva, an archaeologist who can transform into one with a cheetah.

In the latest version, Cheetah in the 2016 comics is portrayed as a famous archaeologist who wants to reveal the existence of the Amazons. When she was still a normal human, she befriended and taught Wonder Woman about modern human life and all its changes. Until one day she was cursed to become a Cheetah and felt that Wonder Woman betrayed her. That's where their enmity began.

Cheetah will be portrayed by Kristen Wiig and will appear in the film WONDER WOMAN 1984 which will be released in Indonesia on December 16, 2020, and online through HBO MAX on December 25, 2020.
