Michael B. Jordan officially received the award for Best Actor at the Actor Awards 2026 (formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards). The event, held at the Shrine Auditorium and hosted by Kristen Bell, became even more touching when Michael presented the award to his mother, Donna Jordan, who has always been a major pillar in his career journey.
"Mom, thank you for taking me back and forth to New York," Michael said while looking at Donna, who was holding back tears among the audience, as reported by eonline, "When we didn't have enough money to get through the Holland Tunnel, when we were looking for gas money, parking, when I went there for auditions."
In his speech, the 39-year-old actor also expressed great appreciation to his longtime collaborator, Ryan Coogler, who this year received an Oscar nomination for writing and directing the film Sinners.
"I want to thank Ryan Coogler for giving me the opportunity to showcase my abilities and to be brave and create a safe space for us to find the truth [and] what you do with all the other actors who have the chance to collaborate," he stated.
