KIMI is Steven Soderbergh's third consecutive film exclusively released on HBO Max, following LET THEM ALL TALK in 2020 and NO SUDDEN MOVE in 2021. His previous two films, HIGH FLYING BIRD and THE LAUNDROMAT, were also released on streaming platforms, but on Netflix.
In addition to Steven Soderbergh as the director, the screenplay of this film was written by David Koepp, who previously wrote the scripts for JURASSIC PARK, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, and SPIDER-MAN.
As the main cast, Zoë Kravitz has appeared in various major Hollywood films, such as X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, the DIVERGENT franchise, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, and FANTASTIC BEASTS. Additionally, she will also portray Selina Kyle alias Catwoman in THE BATMAN, scheduled for release on March 4th.
KIMI will tell the story of Angela Childs, played by Zoe Kravitz. She is a technology worker whose task is to listen to and monitor audio streams.
The story begins when she hears an audio that she believes is evidence of a murder, she desperately tries to make someone believe her and help her solve the crime.
The other cast members of KIMI include Rita Wilson, Devin Ratray, Erika Christensen, India de Beaufort, Byron Bowers, Emily Kuroda, Jacob Vargas, Jaime Camil, and Robin Givens.
KIMI will be exclusively released on HBO Max on Friday, February 10, 2022. Unlike other films, in 2022, all Warner Bros films that make their debut on HBO Max will not be removed from its content lineup and will be available to all subscribers.
