SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY Spotlight on the Superhero's Puberty

SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY is scheduled for a global release on July 31, 2026. In a special interview with Empire media, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Kevin Feige shared a little about their new film.

The first trailer for SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY even recorded 718 million views in its first 24 hours. A promising start for director Destin Daniel Cretton along with his cast like Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, and Sadie Sink. This film has the potential to open domestic earnings above US$200 million due to the immense hype since the first trailer was released.

The film will take place four years after SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME, when the world has forgotten Peter Parker's identity. Destin, along with Marvel Studios, also emphasizes a more classic and personal approach, including a homemade costume without Stark technology.

This time, Tom Holland is celebrating his latest SPIDER-MAN movie. It has been 10 years since he portrayed this superhero character with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Even happier, during the making of this film, he was involved in the story writing process. "This is the first time I’ve been involved in the writing process. Every one or two weeks, we would discuss our ambitions for the future, what we want to try in this film," said Tom Holland as quoted in his interview with Empire.

The idea of "Spider-Puberty" that he proposed at the beginning of the meeting was initially not approved. But as the discussion progressed, the topic of Peter Parker's powers evolving into something unexpected was eventually depicted in the film. "What if Peter Parker loses control of his powers, and many things change drastically?" he revealed.

Tom Holland also slightly responded to the fan theories flooding the internet that Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen will appear. "I don't know what the future holds, but whatever it is, I'm happy if I can be a bridge to that new chapter (the appearance of Miles and Spider-Gwen)," Tom diplomatically replied.

"This is the first Spider-Man film in the MCU that we are making with a focus on classic Spider-Man elements. He will live the typical Spidey life: living in a somewhat sad little apartment, listening to the police scanner radio, and going out to use his great powers responsibly," Feige revealed.

However, SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY will still showcase the spectacular action typical of MCU films. One of the actions already revealed in the trailer and poster is Spidey's fight against The Hand, a mysterious organization made up of ninjas.

One of the villains anticipated in this film is Scorpion, which has been leaked in the ending of SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING.

For Punisher fans, they certainly won't miss his appearance in this film. "He still swears a lot and kills people, but with some adjustments of course," said Tom Holland. SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY will still include the character Frank Castle as authentically as possible while still feeling appropriate for a SPIDER-MAN film that is also for teenage audiences.

So what about the romance between Peter and MJ (Zendaya)? Zendaya mentioned that their relationship right now is truly "heartbreaking." "We know that they are both unhappy right now. And we hope that in the future they will find a happy ending," she said. So are you even more curious now, KLovers?
