The film THE ONE is set in a world where the Multiverse is a reality, with 125 interconnected parallel universes. The Multiverse Authority (MVA) is responsible for maintaining balance across dimensions.
The conflict begins when Gabriel Yulaw (Jet Li), a former MVA agent, rebels and kills 123 versions of himself in other universes. Each murder makes Yulaw stronger as the energy from the deceased selves transfers to his body.
Yulaw's goal is to become “The One,” the singular being with absolute power. However, there is only one last opponent left: Gabe Law (also Jet Li), a Los Angeles police officer living peacefully with his wife. The final battle is inevitable, as MVA agents Harry Rodecker (Delroy Lindo) and Evan Funsch (Jason Statham) struggle to stop Yulaw's ambitions.
