Warner Bros Insists on Screening WONDER WOMAN 1984 This Year

Currently, Warner Bros is still committed to screening WONDER WOMAN 1984 this year. Initially, this film was scheduled to be released in 2019, but it was postponed to June 2020. Unexpectedly, the Covid-19 pandemic struck the world and caused cinemas to close until the situation improves. Warner Bros had to postpone the release date of WONDER WOMAN 1984 to October before finally choosing December 25, 2020 as the new release date.

1. WONDER WOMAN 1984 as a Holiday Gift

Warner Bros plans to release WONDER WOMAN 1984 as a holiday gift for its audience. Furthermore, they hope that WONDER WOMAN 1984 can serve as a remedy after months of facing the pandemic. WarnerMedia Studios and Network CEO, Ann Sarnoff, told Variety that Warner Bros will still premiere WONDER WOMAN 1984 in December. She added that it all depends on the future global conditions. "We still have some time to decide again," she concluded.

However, film critics doubt this. Critics believe that Warner Bros will postpone the release of WONDER WOMAN 1984 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

2. The Director Starts to Doubt

Director Patty Jenkins, who directed the film WONDER WOMAN 1984, admits to having doubts about the December release of this film starring Gal Gadot. In an interview with Variety, she stated that everything needs to be discussed considering various possibilities. According to him, currently various possibilities lead to a delay in the release schedule. The increasing positive numbers in the United States and the yet-to-be-found vaccine are factors that make these possibilities happen.

Although some cinemas in the United States have been opened, the major cinemas in New York City and Los Angeles are still closed. Jenkins added that even though some cinemas have opened, ticket sales are low. However, Patty Jenkins hopes that this second superhero film can be released before the end of the year.
