Zack Snyder Reveals the Heaviest Burden of Working on 'JUSTICE LEAGUE' His Version

Kapanlagi.com - The director's version of JUSTICE LEAGUE by Zack Snyder, which has been rumored for a long time, will finally be released next year on HBO Max. This Snyder Cut version is an addition to some JUSTICE LEAGUE scenes, and will be divided into only 2 episodes. However, in its production, Snyder admitted that he felt very burdened. How come?

From his latest video interview with Beyond The Trailer, Snyder revealed that he really wants his version of JUSTICE LEAGUE to be more pure and in line with the fans' wishes. But his vision was hindered by those who interfered with his work as a filmmaker, and it stressed him out.

"My heaviest burden is to make this film (JUSTICE LEAGUE) more fitting than before. However, making a film involves many parties with different powers, and they will often change the work that you are trying to complete," he explained.

Snyder is already known as one of the most visual directors since working on the film 300 in 2006. He then directed DC films MAN OF STEEL, SUPERMAN V BATMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, and JUSTICE LEAGUE. Unfortunately, in the midst of production, Snyder's daughter passed away and he was forced to be replaced by Joss Whedon.

The reshoots and editing by Whedon were the ones that ultimately became the problem. The film that was finally released in 2017 received a lot of negative responses from DC fans and critics because of its overly dark tone. Articles with the titles 'JUSTICE LEAGUE: A Shame for DC' and 'Justice League is a Great Mess' adorn the pages of Vanity Fair and The Telegraph. Jonathan L. Fischer, one of the top critics on Rotten Tomatoes, even stated that not even Superman's power could save the failure of this film.

Warner Bros itself admits that Snyder's version is indeed more flexible due to the inclusion of jokes that make DC films feel lighter. That's why they were willing to spend more than Rp 418 billion to fund this Snyder Cut version of JUSTICE LEAGUE in order to revitalize the DC film industry. Let's just wait and see!
