Kapanlagi.com - KapanLagi Korean Festival has entered its second day, KLovers. One of the highly anticipated sessions is cooking together with Jun Chef. Today, (26/7), the handsome chef from South Korea shared two recipes for traditional Korean dishes, Tteokbokki and Sundubu Jjigae.

Speaking of food, during his stay in Indonesia, Jun Chef himself apparently has his favorite Indonesian menu. Starting from chicken soup and various other types of soupy dishes.

"I love Indonesian food. Chicken soup, meatball soup, grilled chicken, everything. I like soupy food, because it tastes better when paired with rice," he said.

1. Cook Tteokbokki

The first menu cooked by Chef Jun is Tteokbokki. This is one of South Korea's typical foods and is widely known by the Indonesian community. Chef Jun shared some tips for cooking tteokbokki.

"You don't need to wait for the water to boil, just put the tteokbokki directly into a teflon pan filled with water," he said.

"If you want it to smell fragrant, slice it thin. If you want to taste the flavor, slice it thick. Add onions to enhance the taste, and cabbage to add a crunchy sensation. Most Korean foods use gochujang," Chef Jun continued.

2. Ingredients for Sundubu Jjigae

The second typical Korean dish made by Chef Jun is sundubu jjigae. He mentioned that this food is often consumed during the winter season.

The ingredients needed are beef or any type of seafood, in this case Chef Jun used squid. Other ingredients include vegetables, cooking oil, salt, and pepper.

"For those allergic to seafood, you can use other alternatives in this sundubu jjigae, such as chicken, beef, or goat meat," he said.

3. Tips from Jun Chef

After mentioning the necessary ingredients, Jun Chef began to demonstrate how to cook sundubu jjigae, which is commonly enjoyed by the people in South Korea.

"Pour 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, add the meat and stir-fry. Then add water when the meat is half-cooked. Continue to add vegetables when the water is boiling,"

"After the meat and vegetables start boiling, add squid, eggs, and finally soft tofu but be careful not to break the tofu. Tip: cut the tofu on top of the pot (bowl)," he explained.
