'EARWIG AND THE WITCH' Studio Ghibli's First Film to Use 3DCG Technology

Kapanlagi.com - Studio Ghibli is one of the Japanese animation film studios located in Koganei, Tokyo. Studio Ghibli has produced many famous animated works, starting from MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, SPIRITED AWAY, THE WIND RISES, PRINCESS MONONOKE, and many others. This year, they released a film titled EARWIG AND THE WITCH, directed by Goro Mizaki, who is also one of the sons of the owner of Studio Ghibli. This film is adapted from a novel by Diana Wynne Jones, with the same title, EARWIG AND THE WITCH, and has a duration of 1 hour 22 minutes.
 
In releasing this film, Studio Ghibli collaborated with NHK. The film will premiere on the Japanese television station NHK on December 30. In addition, EARWIG AND THE WITCH will also have its premiere in American cinemas in early 2021.
 
1.Synopsis

As an adaptation of the novel by Diana Wynne Jones, this film tells the story of a girl named Earwig who lives in the St. orphanage. Morwald. Unlike other children in the orphanage, Erwig is described as a cheerful person. He is happy to live there since he was abandoned in front of the orphanage door.

However, one day Erwig is visited by Bella Yaga and Mandrake, both of whom are witches disguised as foster parents. They take Earwig to their mysterious house, filled with secret rooms, potions, and spell books, where every corner of the house is filled with magical things. For most children, this would make them scared, but not Earwig.

In this film, it will tell the story of how Earwig uses various methods and is assisted by a talking cat to show the witches who is in charge.

2. Use 3DCG Technology

Currently, many anime studios use 3DCG technology in their animations. This 3DCG technology is quite efficient and can cut costs. If used properly, 3DCG will provide stunning visuals. This is the first film produced by Studio Ghibli using 3DCG technology. Previously, Goro Miyazaku has also worked on an animated film titled RONJA THE ROBBER'S DAUGHTER in collaboration with Polygon Pictures and Studio Ghilbi using 3D CG technology.  

3. Participation of Sherina Munaf

Artist and singer Sherina Munaf participates in this film. She will be voicing one of the characters in the film. Not only voicing, she will also sing a song in the film. She conveyed this news through her twitter account @sherinasinna.
