Mnet as one of South Korea's main television stations often holds survival shows to debut a new group. Many trainees who have great hopes for their debut and want to showcase their abilities participate in these survival shows.

It's not as easy as imagined, their journey to debut is filled with various trials and obstacles. Trainees go through mission after mission to debut as group members. Behind all of that, they can enjoy success when they can overcome all the given missions.

Here are the groups born from Mnet survival show!

WINNER has participated in the survival show WHO IS NEXT held by YG Entertainment in 2013. Team A won the show and debuted as WINNER on August 17, 2014. Now, this group is still active under the management of YG Entertainment.

IKON participated in the survival show MIX AND MATCH as the beginning of their group formation. Previously, this group also participated in WHO IS NEXT as Team B. IKON debuted in 2015 under YG Entertainment with 7 members. Currently, IKON is still active with 6 remaining members and is under 143 Entertainment.

TWICE was formed through the show SIXTEEN held by JYP Entertainment and broadcasted on Mnet. This group debuted on October 20, 2015, with 9 members, namely Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung, Sana, Mina, Momo, Dahyun, and Tzuyu. This group is still active and has achieved great success.

PRODUCE 101 succeeded with its debut I.O.I in 2016. I.O.I debuted under the agency CJ E&M with 11 members, namely Lim Nayoung, Kim Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Zhou Jieqiong, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kang Mina, Kim Doyeon, and Jeon Somi. The group officially ended their contract and disbanded in January 2017.

With the success of I.O.I, Mnet held another season of PRODUCE 101 SEASON 2 for male contestants. Yoon Jisung, Ha Sungwoon, Hwang Minhyun, Ong Seongwu, Kim Jaehwan, Kang Daniel, Park Jihoon, Park Woojin, Bae Jinyoung, Lee Daehwi, and Lai Guanlin were chosen as the debut members of WANNA ONE, who debuted in 2017. They achieved great success, but unfortunately, the group's contract only lasted until January 2019.

The PRODUCE 48 series is still ongoing. From this series, the debut group IZONE was formed, consisting of 12 beautiful women who have been active from 2018 to 2021.

PRODUCE X 101 successfully debuted the boy group X1 with 11 members. This group debuted in 2020, but unfortunately, they could only last for 5 months. The group members are Han Seungwoo, Cho Seungyoon, Kim Wooseok, Kim Yohan, Lee Hangyul, Cha Junho, Son Dongpyo, Kang Minhee, Lee Eunsang, Song Hyeongjuun, and Nam Dohyeon.

In addition to the Produce Series, Mnet also presented the GIRLS PLANET 999 as an exciting survival show. The group named KEP1ER consists of 9 beautiful women. KEP1ER debuted in 2022 with their main song 'Wa Da Da'.

The Girls Planet series also presents its male version, BOYS PLANET. ZEROBASEONE, a group that debuted in 2023 from this show. This group consists of 9 members, Jiwoong, Sung Hanbin, Zhanghao, Sek Matthew, Ricky, Gunwook, Han Yujin, Taeree, and Gyuvin.
