Created by Hwang Dong Hyuk, SQUID GAME quickly became a sensational show worldwide after its premiere in 2021. After a 12-year development process, SQUID GAME only took 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series of all time.
The series captured the attention of global audiences and dominated the Global Top 10 list for nine consecutive weeks—the first time for a non-English language series—and made history by winning several Emmy awards.
This thrilling second season will bring back Lee Jung Jae, who plays the character Seong Gi Hun or Player 456. With a fierce demeanor and scars from the previous game, Gi Hun embarks on a heavy mission to uncover the dangerous truth of the competition.
However, no one heeds his warning, and the tension rises as other players question his intentions.
The teaser video also shows the return of Lee Byung Hun as the mysterious Front Man, someone whose true motivation remains a secret, while the return of Hwang Jun Ho (played by Wi Ha Joon) drives the storyline as a relentless detective on a mission.
