Meaning of Lyrics and MV 'Like Water' by Wendy Red Velvet, Joy: Makes the Heart Warm

"Like Water is a pure acoustic ballad track with a fresh vibe. Like humans who cannot live without water, it brings a message about how two people need and complement each other like water. I want this album to have a message, and since the planning stage of the album, I have been writing a list of things I want to convey through this album," said Wendy at the LIKE WATER album press conference.

"Like the lyrics 'I just wanna thank you for believing in me' and they really wrote it using the phrase I made. So I'm really grateful to producer Yoo Young Jin and Kenzie who have created amazing lyrics for the song," she added.

1. Give a Warm Impression

In line with the meaning of the song, Wendy hopes that ReVeluvs will feel the same way when watching her MV. The song and MV debut Like Water also reflect Wendy's warm personality.

"Like the song, I want the MV to give a warm feeling. We took inspiration from the title and used the image of 'water' and shot it against different backdrops, so it will be very enjoyable to watch. There are many warm impressions that also warm the heart," said Wendy.

"Wow! This is an amazing song that suits you very well. So warm," added Joy, who was trusted to host the press conference for her team member.

2. Watching the MV Alone

Interestingly, Wendy herself watched the MV Like Water for the first time during the press conference. The idol, born on February 21, 1994, admitted to feeling nervous while watching her first solo work.

"Yes (first time watching the MV during the press conference), this is the first time I'm watching it! My palms are sweating... It feels strange to watch it before the release, and this is my solo project!" she exclaimed.
