Messy! These are Some K-Pop Concerts That Did Not Go Smoothly According to Plan

1. Wanna One Concerts in Indonesia and Malaysia

One of the chaotic K-Pop concerts was the Wanna One concert held in Indonesia and Malaysia. This concert took place in 2018. In Indonesia, the concert was held at ICE BSD, Tangerang on July 15, 2018. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, the concert took place in Kuala Lumpur on July 21, 2018. 

In Indonesia, this Wanna One concert was temporarily halted for more than 30 minutes after Wanna One performed the song Boomerang, as the audience was deemed too chaotic and pushing each other to get to the front. In Malaysia, the concert was accompanied by disorderliness, resulting in some injured spectators. 

2. K-Pop Knight Concerts

Still in the same year, which is in 2018, the concert K-Pop Knight in London also took place in chaos. This K-Pop Knight concert was held on January 27, 2018 at SSE Arena, Wembley. In this concert, it was enlivened by several big K-Pop stars like Monsta X, Se7en, Seven O'Clock.

If most concerts are attended by a lot of audience exceeding capacity, this is the opposite. The venue that can accommodate 13 thousand audience was only attended by 300 people. This made the organizers give free tickets to the local community. One of the reasons stating that this concert was empty is because the concert tickets were too expensive.

3. EXO Concert in China in 2016

One of the K-Pop concerts that was also chaotic took place in 2016 in China. This performance was EXO concert titled EXO's K-FRIENDS. This concert was held in Shanghai on March 27, 2016. The implementation of this concert received a lot of criticism and protests at the end.

This happened because many things promised by the event promoter were not fulfilled. One of the members, Lay, who is from China, did not attend because it clashed with his other schedule. Many concert requirements were requested by the organizers to the fans. Not only that, the concert ended earlier. EXO was planned to perform ten songs, but it ended with only five songs.

4. BTS Concert in America

The next chaotic concert comes from one of the famous South Korean boy groups, BTS. In this concert, the main star BTS was actually hit by a foreign object thrown by the audience. 

The concert held on October 6, 2018 was considered dangerous for BTS. Despite being warned to stop, the audience continued to throw objects such as dolls, money, and other items at BTS. However, the concert still went on and made an incredible profit. 

5. Korea Music Drive-in Festival 2020

If earlier there were offline concerts that turned chaotic, this Korea Music Drive-in Festival 2020 also faced similar problems. Although the concert concept was designed to adapt to the current pandemic situation, the event still encountered issues. The concert required the audience to come in their cars and watch the event from inside.

Chaos began when the audience felt dissatisfied and got out of their cars to watch the stars perform on stage. Some of the audience even climbed on their cars to get a clearer view of the stars. This caused the event to become chaotic and violated health protocols during the pandemic.

Those were some concerts that didn't go smoothly according to the planned. Not only the event promoters and organizers' mistakes, but also the audience's riots made the concerts chaotic.
