Kapanlagi.com - Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, the winner of Miss Grand International 2021, has been detained by the Vietnamese police following allegations of fraud on Monday, May 13, 2025. This arrest occurred based on reports of an attempted scam involving the fiber supplement promoted by the beauty queen, Kera Supergreens Gummies.
According to an official statement from the local Ministry of Public Security, Tien is suspected of misleading consumers about her supplement products through advertisements on social media. The nutritional information she provided was stated to be inconsistent with the actual facts.
Tien claimed that if someone consumed one piece of Kera Supergreens gum, both children and adults would receive vegetables equivalent to one plate through this practical healthy snack. However, a critical consumer found discrepancies between the advertised ingredients and the actual content of the product.

In December 2024, Tien collaborated with two influencers, Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang, to launch the Kera Supergreen Gummies product. The Facebook account with 2.6 million followers became a platform for the Vietnamese beauty queen to promote the supplement with a campaign of "healthy and practical snacks" to an audience of all ages.
Shortly thereafter, a controversy surrounding Kera Supergreen Gummies arose when a consumer sent the product to the local Quality Assurance and Testing Center for further testing. The investigation results showed that the fiber content in 30 pieces of gum was only around 0.51 grams. This figure is vastly different from the claims made by Tien.

Tien was caught deleting all promotional content for Supergreen Gummies on her personal social media account just moments after the public was enraged by her violation of advertising regulations. The Department of Food Safety of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam then requested the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Authority to release the official test results of the product.
The product marketed as a fiber supplement was found not to list its fiber content on the packaging. Additionally, those testing Supergreen Gummies further confirmed that the claims listed were nothing more than levels of sugar, protein, fat, and energy. This indicates that Tien's 'healthy supplement' is merely chewing gum.
Another oddity revealed is that the certified VietGAP vegetable powder was replaced with low-quality powder that only contained 0.61--0.75% fiber, 35% sorbitol (artificial sweetener), and other unspecified additional manufacturing ingredients. In fact, more than 135,000 bottles of Supergreen Gummies have been sold to approximately 30,000 consumers, generating total revenue of up to 17 billion dong (Vietnamese currency).

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Pham Quang Linh, and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang were summoned by the police for questioning regarding their actions. After the investigation, all three admitted that the claims made in their promotions were indeed misleading and not in accordance with reality.
The investigation into this case is still ongoing. However, the two influencers who are Tien's associates have each been fined 140 million dong. Meanwhile, the winner of Miss Grand International 2021 was only fined 25 million dong for failing to disclose that her promotional post was a paid advertisement, violating transparency promotion regulations.
