The entertainment world in South Korea is once again shrouded in sorrow. Senior actor Choi Jung Woo has been reported to have passed away on Tuesday (27/5/2025). His departure leaves a deep sorrow for fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry who knew him as a talented and highly dedicated actor.
Although the exact cause of his death has not been officially confirmed, Choi Jung Woo had reportedly complained of panic disorders and depression.
This raises suspicions that his health condition had deteriorated in recent times.
Currently, the body is laid to rest in Room 5, the Funeral Hall of Woori Gimpo Hospital. The funeral ceremony is scheduled to take place on the morning of May 29, 2025.
Choi Jung Woo began his acting career on the theater stage in 1975 with a play titled 'A Certain Actor's Life'.
The late actor then joined as a voice actor at Dongyang Broadcasting in 1980, expanding his presence in the entertainment world. His name became widely known to the public through various popular dramas such as the series 'Quiz of God', 'Master's Sun', 'Legend of the Blue Sea', and 'Sisyphus'.
He was even still actively appearing in various projects in recent years, including the JTBC drama 'The Story of Lady Ok', 'Suspicious Girl' on KBS2, and the film 'Escape: Project Silence' which aired last year.
