Confused, Seung-do searches for a medical explanation and ultimately decides to contact Pastor Ban Hae-sin. The pastor discovers that So-mi's body is being tormented by a demon. An exorcism is performed, although Seung-do tries to stop it because he cannot bear to see his daughter's suffering. However, before everything is over, So-mi passes away.
Seung-do's sorrow deepens as he feels his daughter still calling his name during her three-day wake. As time goes by, odd occurrences begin to happen around the wake. Pastor Ban also senses that something is wrong after the exorcism is performed. He realizes that the transplanted heart in So-mi carries an evil spirit that is now trying to rise again.
The conflict escalates when Seung-do, manipulated by the demon, insists on not cremating his daughter's body. On the other hand, Pastor Ban must confront his fear and the terror of his past to stop the resurrection of the evil spirit. The tension between the two creates an emotional drama that is heart-wrenching.
