Kapanlagi.com - The Japanese rock band, RADWIMPS, released the album "Anew" on October 3, 2025, marking their first new album in 4 years. Along with the album release, RADWIMPS also launched a new music video for the single "World End Girl Friend".
The album "Anew" contains a total of 12 songs, including 10 new songs and two previously released tracks: "Tamamono" (a song for the NHK drama 'Anpan') and "Meidai" (a song for the NTV news program 'News zero'). The physical version of the album features "Tamamono (Orchestra version)". This album release also coincides with the celebration of 20 years since RADWIMPS' first album.

The music video "World End Girl Friend" is directed by Takeshi Maruyama and was filmed in Thailand. This video depicts the feelings of a woman's love in a foreign country, with a love song backdrop that is full of nostalgia yet still feels fresh.
In addition to releasing an album, RADWIMPS also presents the 'The 20th Anniversary Special Box' which provides an exclusive experience for fans to explore their career journey over two decades.

The 20th Anniversary Special Box features special studio performance recordings, behind-the-scenes clips, and interview sessions with the band members. The box set also includes recordings from RADWIMPS' first arena concert at Yokohama Arena in August 2007, as well as four songs from their set at Fuji Rock Festival 2025 last July.
Additionally, this box set also includes a special anniversary pouch containing three limited edition items specially designed to celebrate RADWIMPS' 20-year journey. This special package is now available for international pre-order through the official RADWIMPS Overseas Store.

RADWIMPS is also ready to kick off the "RADWIMPS 20th ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR" to promote the album "Anew" and celebrate their 20th anniversary. The tour will take place in nine cities in Japan with a total of 17 arena concerts. Their hometown, Yokohama, will be a special location with special guest appearances from BUMP OF CHICKEN (first day), Vaundy (second day), and YOASOBI (third day).

Formed for the first time in 2001 and debuting in 2005, the Japanese band RADWIMPS, which carries the pop-rock genre, has successfully attracted public attention and gained many fans since their career began at a young age. Despite being active for a long time, RADWIMPS' music is also widely loved by young people.
As of now, RADWIMPS has released nine albums and is increasingly recognized globally through their works, including the soundtrack albums for the animated films by Makoto Shinkai, namely Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa) and Weathering with You. Both works brought RADWIMPS to win the Japanese Academy Award for Best Original Score.
In November 2021, they released the album "FOREVER DAZE" which was written and recorded during the pandemic, and conducted a national tour in Japan. In 2022, RADWIMPS collaborated with composer Kazuma Jinnouchi to create music and score for the film Suzume. With the global release of the film, the band undertook a tour in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia in 2023 with all tickets sold out. This success continued with an additional tour in 2024 to Latin America and Asia, including Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong, Taipei, Jakarta, and Bangkok.
Currently, Indonesia ranks 2nd in the list of countries that most frequently play RADWIMPS' music globally.
