The band Slank is ready to celebrate 41 years of their musical journey with a special concert titled Pasar Malam Empat Satoe Slank on January 4, 2025. The concert, promoted by PT Expo Indonesia Jaya (Expoindo), will take place at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
Kaka, the vocalist of Slank, explained that this concert is designed with a unique concept and aims to invite people of all ages to attend.
"Actually, we want to hold a concert event that can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups. What’s the concept? Night Market, because at a night market, people of all ages can watch the concert, and mothers with small children can stroll around the night market. Everyone can enjoy it," said Kaka in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/10/2024).
Slank's drummer, Bimbim, explained that the Night Market is the main theme that will be presented in this concert, bringing back the nostalgic atmosphere of childhood. According to Bimbim, this is an effort to create local pride that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
"The concept of the night market itself is that when I was a kid, I used to go to the night market with my dad, but now it’s hard to do that. So we decided to create it ourselves so we can enjoy it too. Slankers now span 3 generations, grandparents and grandchildren can come together," he said.
Tickets for this concert will go on sale starting October 30, 2024, through the BBO app. Various ticket categories are offered, ranging from Rp150,000 to Rp2 million. With this price variation, Slank hopes to reach more fans from various backgrounds to celebrate their long journey in the music world.
Not only carrying the Night Market theme, this concert also offers special surprises. Bimbim revealed that Slank will perform songs that are rarely played in concerts. “We are making a songlist from 25 Slank albums, there will definitely be some we will perform,” he said.
The Operational Director of PT Expoindo Jaya, Novry Hetharia, stated that this concert is held as a tribute to Slank's long journey in the music world. “This concert is held as a form of appreciation for Slank's long journey in music,” he concluded.
