Ahmad Dhani Reveals Judika's Fee, Reaches 1.5 Billion for Solo Concert

Kapanlagi.com - Musician Ahmad Dhani revealed that singer Judika's fee for a solo concert performance reached Rp1.5 billion. Dhani noted Judika's income when discussing the comparison of royalties for all composers in Indonesia per year.

Husband of Mulan Jameela was surprised because the report from WAMI (Wahana Musik Indonesia) in 2023 showed that the royalties for all events received by composers were only Rp900 million per year.

"We received a report from WAMI (Wahana Musik Indonesia) in 2023, the live event royalties from all concerts that use the composer's songs, we received a report of Rp900 million in one year," said Ahmad Dhani as the Chairman of AKSI (Association of All Indonesian Composers) in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Monday (22/1/2024).

"But I was just about to hire Judika for a solo show, and the price was Rp1.5 billion," added Ahmad Dhani.

Dhani also expressed his suspicion about the difference in numbers. He strongly suspects that there is something fishy in the distribution of royalties to songwriters throughout Indonesia.

"So, there must be a thief here. There must be a thief here, allegedly, but there must be a thief here. Does it make sense? Judika's solo concert alone costs Rp1.5 billion, but the royalties received by all composers are Rp900 million," he said.

"If we want to be evil, if we want to audit, LMKN and LMK will definitely be a mess," added Ahmad Dhani.

2. Dhani's Criticism

Furthermore, Dhani criticized the performance of related institutions that he deemed ineffective in handling the polemic of songwriters' royalties from a music concert.

"If LMKN and LMK cannot handle live event royalties, then just stop making excuses, you really can't handle this. Either you're incapable or someone stole it, I don't know, it's one of those two," concluded Ahmad Dhani.
