Andmesh Kamaleng Tells the Story About His Second Album, There's a Song Inspired by the Story of Online Motorcycle Taxi

Kapanlagi.com - After the success of his first album CINTA LUAR BIASA in 2019, Andmesh Kamaleng is finally ready to release his second album titled CINTA DAN DOA on September 22, 2023. Through his latest album, Andmesh Kamaleng wants to convey the importance of gratitude.

"After four years ago (the album) CINTA LUAR BIASA until finally being able to release another album, I'm really grateful," said Andmesh Kamaleng during the album's season hearing of CINTA DAN DOA at MNC Tower, West Jakarta some time ago.

"Hopefully, this can be songs that inspire many people and can make people be more grateful. We have to be more aware that we are given so many meaningful and valuable things, but sometimes we forget to be grateful," he continued.

1. Meaning of Album 'CINTA DAN DOA'

The reason Andmesh Kamaleng titled his album CINTA DAN DOA (Love and Prayer) is because he believes that in love, there is always a prayer that is offered. This album consists of 13 songs, including 6 new songs such as Berharap Pada Cinta yang Salah (Hoping for the Wrong Love), Pelukis Pilu (Sad Painter), Talalu Sakit, Selamanya Untukku (Too Painful, Forever for Me), Ungu (Purple), and Kita dan Doa (Us and Prayer).

"Why the album is titled CINTA DAN DOA (Love and Prayer) is because in the love that we give to others, we surely receive prayers from them as well. When we receive love from someone else, we also pray for them. That is reflected in some of the songs that Andmesh created in this album," he explained.

2. Inspired by the Story of an Online Motorcycle Taxi

The song Kita dan Doa (Us and Prayer) becomes the flagship single for this album. Andmesh Kamaleng also revealed that the song was inspired by the story of an online motorcycle taxi driver whom he often encountered.

"There are so many people that Andmesh meets until it eventually becomes a song. One of them is a father who works as an online motorcycle taxi driver, he often stops by our house after finishing his rides, and he always annoys the kids at home. The kids would say, 'You only come to take cigarettes, ask for coffee, then you leave, and come back to talk again.' Then Andmesh would reply, 'Well, if we have more than one cigarette, don't worry about it,'" he explained.

"Every time we hang out, he always tells the same story about the economy, his children, and all of his burdens. People like him are actually seeking attention from us. So, it's not wrong for us to give our attention, not just to the people we choose, but also to the people around us. It doesn't cost us anything actually. We also have to realize that there are still many people who are struggling, while we complain a lot even if we only have a little problem," he concluded.
