Kapanlagi.com - The Australian Embassy in Indonesia presents “Two Nations in Harmony: An Australia–Indonesia Concert Ensemble,” a special performance that brings together the internationally acclaimed Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) String Quartet with Indonesian composer Vishnu Satyagraha in Jakarta on July 9.

This concert combines Western classical music with Indonesian traditions through original works by University of Melbourne alumnus, Vishnu Satyagraha, including Yarra Code and Aluna Digdaya, inspired by communities in Australia and Indonesia.

“Music has the power to unite people across cultures, and this concert highlights the strength of our partnership through creativity and collaboration,” said the Chargé d'Affaires of Australia to Indonesia, Gita Kamath.

“Over the last decade, MSO has built strong partnerships in Indonesia, demonstrating Australia’s commitment to meaningful collaboration, creative excellence, and the exchange of knowledge and skills.”

The MSO's relationship with Indonesia over the past decade has been supported through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Special Region of Yogyakarta's Cultural Office and the Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra, reflecting the deep and ongoing commitment of both countries to cultural exchange and community relationships.

As part of its program in Jakarta, MSO will also hold a workshop themed “Leadership in Arts” before continuing its visit to Yogyakarta. This visit is also supported by the Australia-Indonesia Institute and the Victorian Government.
