Even though they have become one of the big names in the Indonesian music industry, Barasuara admits that they never stop following the developments of new musicians. They even regularly monitor the latest releases every week as part of the creative process and internal band discussions.

Iga Massardi stated that all Barasuara members have a habit of sharing music references that they are currently listening to. "We always pay attention to who is releasing work every week. We even often discuss among the six of us about the musicians we are currently listening to," said Iga Massardi when met at Studio 6 Emtek City, West Jakarta, Thursday (18/6/2026).

"Nowadays, there are many media outlets and social media accounts that regularly share information about new releases. Coincidentally, we will also be releasing a song soon," Iga added.

This habit allows Barasuara to always keep up with the development of new talents from various regions. Iga also mentioned several names that have recently caught his attention.

"Some of the bands and musicians we listen to include The Jeblogs, Song Brothers who play jazz very interestingly, then there's Alkateri and many more actually," he said.

According to Barasuara, the development of digital media and various music award events has helped them get to know more musicians from outside Jakarta. This also proves that quality talent is spread across various regions of Indonesia.

"Indonesia has a rich variety of languages and cultures. Each region has its own exoticism, which is evident from the many regional songs that have a large number of listeners," said Iga.

Their participation in the SCTV Music Awards 2026 also serves as a valuable opportunity to interact and collaborate with the younger generation of musicians.

"It is a great honor to perform at the SCTV Music Awards. This is an appreciation for Indonesian music. We also have a rare opportunity to collaborate with friends from The Icon," he expressed.
