Billie Eilish Performs Virtual 'Tiny Desk (Home) Concert' with Her Brother

Kapanlagi.com - In the current pandemic, many musicians have replaced their concert tours with virtual concerts, including famous pop singer Billie Eilish. Billie Eilish made her virtual concert debut on the famous virtual concert platform, NPR Music. The virtual concert commonly used by NPR Music is titled 'Tiny Desk Concert'. Billie Eilish made her virtual concert debut on Wednesday (26/08) yesterday.

Billie Eilish performed her virtual concert with her brother and duet partner, Finneas. They both performed the concert in a simple way, accompanied only by the sound of the keyboard and guitar. She started the concert with her latest song 'My Future' and ended with the song 'Everything I Wanted' released in 2019. The video of their concert has been uploaded on the Official YouTube NPR Music.

"I feel honored to be here, we have both been watching this show for years" said Billie Eilish. "Quarantine is weird. I know you all feel the same way, we don't know how long this will last. Feels like there's almost no hope. But I think the future is something full of hope and unknown of what's to come. We'll be okay someday, maybe not now but that's what keeps me going," explained Billie Eilish about the current pandemic situation.

NPR (National Public Radio) itself is one of the media organizations that serves as a syndication for public broadcasting radio in the United States. NPR was established in 1970 and made its first broadcast in 1971. Meanwhile, Tiny Desk Concert is a series of live concert videos presented by NPR Music at the All Songs Considered host desk, Bob Boilen. Tiny Desk Concert was first performed in 2008.

In Tiny Desk Concert, usually musicians will hold their concerts in the NPR studio. However, due to the current global situation like now, musicians hold their concerts at their respective homes. Seen in the set used by Billie Eilish and Finneas like the set commonly used in Tiny Desk Concerts. In fact, it is all just a replica that they both made to resemble the NPR studio. "So clearly, we are actually not at the Tiny Desk, because this is just a cardboard cutout. But it is still real, just not physically real," she said while showing the room background where the concert took place.

NPR itself has featured many Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts for its show for over 5 months. Musicians who have participated in Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts include John Legend, Alicia Keys, Kate Davis, and many more.
