Celebrate 10th Anniversary, We The Fest 2024 Presents Joji, Peggy Gou, and J Balvin!

We The Fest officially introduces several musicians who will liven up this event with their hit songs. Among the line-up, there are several rising musicians, Klovers. Among them, the famous singer and producer, Joji, will be one of the headliners at the festival. Known for his single Glimpse Of Us, the presence of this Japanese musician is highly anticipated by fans in Indonesia.

In addition to Joji, Peggy Gou will also enliven the line-up of We The Fest 2024. This DJ and music producer from South Korea is known for his energetic and unique electronic music. We often hear his songs like (It Goes Like) Nanana, I Go, and Starry Night in cafes.

Not only that, J Balvin will also be present to liven up the stage of We The Fest 2024. The Colombian rapper will make the audience dance to his hit song titled Mi Gente.

1. 10th Anniversary of We The Fest

This year's We The Fest may be slightly different from previous editions. This year marks the 10th anniversary of We The Fest in Indonesia. This music festival has been held every year in August since 2014.

It started in 2014 at Senayan East Parking until 2016. However, in 2017, the festival moved to Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran until 2019. In 2020, the festival was held virtually due to the high COVID-19 pandemic at that time. We The Fest returned in 2022 at GBK Sports Complex. Until this year, the festival is still held at GBK.

2. Previously Held Virtually!

In 2020, We The Fest was canceled due to the high COVID-19 pandemic at that time. Phase 1, which had been announced, including performances by Migos, Blackbear, Cheat Codes, and Clairo, were canceled at Jakarta International Expo.

As an alternative, the music festival in that year was transformed into a virtual concert called We The Fest 2020 Virtual Home Edition. The festival, hosted by presenters Reza Chandika and Vidi Aldiano, was attended by many popular musicians. Some of them were Lewis Capaldi, Oh Wonder, Masego, Isyana Sarasvati, Keshi, and Nadin Amizah.

This new concept did not diminish the excitement of the festival. Audience members could still sing along with their favorite musicians in front of their screens

3. Sudden Change of Headliner at We The Fest 2023

In 2023, We The Fest suddenly changed its headliner from The 1975 to Sheila On 7. This was caused by the lead vocalist of The 1975, Matty Healy, who kissed the bass player of the band in Malaysia. Matty Healy's protest against the regulations in that country received criticism from Malaysian and Indonesian netizens.

With the cancellation of The 1975, many fans filled the comment section of We The Fest requesting ticket refunds. However, the organizers did not stay silent. A few hours before the concert started, Sheila on 7 was announced as the replacement headliner for The 1975. This news quickly went viral and many netizens appreciated the organizers of We The Fest.

During their performance, Sheila on 7 jokingly mentioned The 1975, saying "Is everyone healthy? Allow us to introduce ourselves, we are Sheila f**king Seventy," said Duta that night.

4. Line-Up We The Fest 2024

Not only J Balvin, Peggy Gou, and Joji. We The Fest 2024 will also be enlivened by Omar Apollo, Russ, Turnstile, Alec Benjamin, Bibi, Maliq & D'Essentials, Oliver Tree, Teddy Swims, Tiger JK & Yoon Mirae, Ylona Garcia, and 3 Diva.

Not to be missed, Ali, Avhath, Bank, Bernadya, Bilal Indrajaya, Haven, Nadin Amizah, Pee Wee Gaskins, Reality Club, Sal Priadi, Satine Zaneta, Scandal, Sore, Teddy Adithya, The Adams, The Sigit, White Chorus, White Shoes & The Couples Company, and Zeke and The Popo will also sing with fans on July 19-21, 2024 at GBK Sports Complex Senayan, Jakarta.
