Collaborating with Melly Goeslaw, New Singer Izellah Releases 'Hello'

This 13-year-old girl of New Zealand descent has just released her latest single titled Hello. The single was written by one of Indonesia's famous musicians, Melly Goeslaw. Writing a song for a teenager like Izellah turned out to be its own challenge for Melly.

"I also had to think hard because she is still young. So I chose what was most appropriate to be performed by someone of Izellah's age. But without reducing its universal meaning, it can still be enjoyed by all ages. So I chose this type of music that is very easy listening, simple according to me. Happy, light," said Melly when met recently.

"For the lyrics, I chose Hello. That's because I thought when I was her age, it was the time when I still liked to hang out with friends. So, a friend who is still in love like a monkey, but conveyed in a straightforward language and not too grown up. Insha Allah, this lyrics are universal and safe for all ages. Hopefully, through this single, Izellah can realize her dream of becoming a successful musician in Indonesia.

Izellah herself is still not very fluent in speaking Indonesian. However, that does not discourage her from pursuing her dream of becoming a great singer. So, what is Izellah's reason for releasing a song in Indonesia?

"I want to try something new. Even now, I am still trying to improve my Indonesian. It is not easy to sing a song in Indonesian. Indonesian songs are great and inspiring. There are many genres. I have heard about Melly, she is indeed an amazing musician. In my opinion, Melly is like the Whitney Houston of Indonesia. I have wanted to collaborate with Melly for a long time," said Izellah, concluding.
