Continuing to Work Amid the Covid-19 Pandemic, Orkes PSK Launches Album 'Generasi TikoTOK'

Kapanlagi.com - After the success of their first album Menuju Gadun, which was released on October 25, 2019, now Orkes PSK is ready to launch their new ammunition, their second album titled Generasi TIKoTOK on July 26, 2021.

The creative process of the second album looks very different from the previous album, as seen from the activities they have done. The process of working on the second album during this pandemic did not make them stop, as evidenced by the many activities they have done and poured into their social media platforms.

There are several digital contents that are very active, carried out by Orkes PSK. On YouTube, Orkes PSK has podcast content that often collaborates with musicians from Bandung, national artists, and also influencers.

"The creative process must not stop, we must continue to be active," said the manager of Orkes PSK, Robby Suhada. Besides YouTube content, Orkes PSK is also very active on Instagram and TikTok because it is important to interact with Lejingers-Lejingers (the fans of Orkes PSK).

Choosing the title of the new album Generasi TikoTOK is not without reason. Gumlay, the vocalist of Orkes PSK, provided an explanation.

"Since the pandemic, we have to stay at home a lot and use applications like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok more. It's even booming during this pandemic, so we agreed to name it Generasi TikoTOK (a play on words with TikTok) and feel like we are in that TikTok generation (sorry, not an advertisement and not endorsed)," he said.

It's no wonder that the music presented in this album is influenced by the songs often played on those applications.

"In the process of making our second album, we wanted to give a sound that we often hear on one of those applications to emphasize that we are in the generation of those applications," added Vicka, Keyboardist of Orkes PSK.

In addition to releasing a new album, Orkes PSK also released a music video for the single Sabar. The single is also included in this new album. The song Sabar is considered suitable to describe the current situation.

"The theme of the song Sabar itself is actually more about love and family, but because we are also in a pandemic situation, Sabar can be interpreted into our daily lives, being patient in facing the pandemic, installment bills, online loan bills, slow sales, job layoffs, etc.," concluded Nay, the drummer.
