There are approximately 31 national and regional songs presented, and there is a dialogue between a grandfather played by Butet Kataredjasa and his grandson played by young musician Zie, who tells a glimpse of the history of the songs and the heroic figures portrayed.

Rusmedie Agus, the director of the Sabang Merauke Pahlawan Nusantara Show, said that the dialogue between the grandfather and grandson reflects two generations with different perspectives on the spirit of nationalism. They also tell stories about the stories behind the heroes from Aceh to Papua, with the background of the traditions, tribes, and cultures of each region.

This performance introduces the history of Indonesian heroes through a theatrical show that combines traditional and contemporary dances, a series of regional and national music, wrapped in spectacular performances and a parade of Indonesian traditional costumes.

"This Sabang Merauke performance feels more special and brings us to know more about the services of past heroes," said Rusmedie Agus after the performance.

In addition, he hopes that this performance will inspire the next generation to continue their struggle as heroes for themselves. Furthermore, the process leading up to this event took six months, while their routine training took three months in Yogyakarta and Jakarta.

"We are optimistic that we can present an interesting performance and make all the eyes watching feel touched or proud on the land of Indonesia," he said.

This performance involves no less than 200 professions, including hundreds of the best cross-generational artists in Indonesia, such as musicians, dancers, top singers in Indonesia, and dozens of designers and fashion houses.
