Elsa Japasal Releases Debut Single 'Pernah Dicinta', Begins Music Career with Sony Music

Elsa Japasal officially released her debut single titled "Pernah Dicinta" under the label Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. This step marks the beginning of her new journey in the music world after previously being known as one of the performers in various television shows. Although her name is familiar on screen, not many know that Elsa also possesses impressive singing abilities.

Elsa's vocal talent caught the attention of Sony Music, which then invited her to join in developing her musical potential. The song "Pernah Dicinta," created by Aldi Nada, was chosen to open her career in the Indonesian music industry.

"So, in this debut single, I bring a theme that may resonate with some people who have experienced or been in that position, which is struggling to move on after a relationship ends," Elsa stated in an official statement received by Kapanlagi.com.

This song tells the story of someone who cannot forget their past love. "In the lyrics, there are words like 'I will be okay, hopefully,' so this girl already knows that her love story has passed, but she still can't let go because she feels that person is the best for her. The process of selecting the song Pernah Dicinta took quite a long time because it was necessary to find a work that truly matched Elsa's vocal character.

"The process of working on this single until it was ready for release took about one to two months, which is quite fast. The long part was perhaps in the selection process because the A&R team wanted a song that suited my vocal character," said Elsa.

"After listening to many demos, finally Pernah Dicinta was selected to be my debut single with Sony Music," she added.

Although she has tried recording before, Elsa describes this experience as her first professional recording.

"During the recording of Pernah Dicinta, I was assisted by Kak Barsena as the vocal director. Here, I was asked to sing notes that are somewhat difficult for my vocal character, so this debut single recording at Sony Music felt challenging but also exciting," she said.

This song becomes a new platform for Elsa to express a side of herself that has not been widely seen by the public. "Maybe, people see me as cheerful, happy, and bubbly on TV, but actually, I also have a mellow, sad, or confused side that rarely shows. Through this song, I want to showcase another character and personality of Elsa Japasal," Elsa revealed.
