EMPC 2020 Ready to be Held, Eka Gustiwana: Making it Easier for Talented Indonesian Musicians to Have Their Works Heard

Kapanlagi.com - After the success in 2019, ICEPERIENCE.ID is once again organizing the Electronic Music Producer Contest (EMPC) 2020. There are several differences in this year's EMPC compared to last year, one of which is the record label collaboration.

"The difference is that this year it coincides with the pandemic, so there are some technical differences. And the second difference is that last year we collaborated with record labels in America, while this year we collaborate with a record label from the Netherlands, namely Barong Family," said Diopsaputra, representative of ICEPRIENCE.ID during a virtual press conference on Thursday (9/7).

1. Collaborating with Eka Gustiwana to Yellow Claw as Judges

Not only that, this year ICEPRIENCE.ID also collaborates with local DJs such as Dipha Barus, Eka Gustiwana, and Winky Wiryawan, as well as the duo DJs from the Netherlands, Yellow Claw, who are appointed as judges.

"The third difference is that this year we collaborate with several judges, including Dipha Barus, Eka Gustiwana, and Winky Wiryawan, and one more surprise for local producers is that Yellow Claw will be a judge. It should be a pride for local producers to be able to participate and have their works curated by Yellow Claw," explained Diopsaputra.

"We want to provide a platform for local talents to create higher quality works and have a voice in the local and international scenes. Basically, to elevate to a higher level," he continued.

2. Platform for Local Musicians to Showcase Their Works

Eka Gustiwana also sees EMPC as the right platform for local musicians who want their works to be heard more widely.

"In my opinion, this is a really good place for friends because I see many new producers. Before, I was confused about how to make music, we have the spirit and ability but we don't know how to make our music heard by people," said Eka Gustiwana.

"With the existence of EMPC, it means that talented Indonesian musicians can be heard by Yellow Claw and senior judges, and I think this is the right step," he concluded.

3. How to Register for EMPC 2020

EMPC 2020 is a form of ICEPERIENCE.ID's consistency through the International Collaboration Experience (ICE) program, which consistently advocates for the progress of the electronic music industry in the country.
