From TikTok Host to the Music World, JB Releases Debut Single 'Cinta Tak Berbentuk Hati'

Kapanlagi.com - JB officially launched his debut single titled 'Cinta Tak Berbentuk Hati' on Sunday (4/5/2025) in the Cinere area, Depok. This release marks JB's first step in expanding his career in the music industry in Indonesia.

Widely known as a popular host on TikTok, JB admitted that he initially just dabbled in the DJ world before seriously pursuing singing. This process began when he was introduced to DJ Nata Wijaya, who saw great potential in him.

"My casual scrolling on TikTok revealed potential; I can sing. When we met, I asked if he was interested in the DJ world. I saw the potential; there’s also potential in singing, he catches on remarkably fast, he gets it right away," said JB.

1. Brief Production Process

JB was then introduced to Bimo Maxim, a music producer who has produced many new talents. Together with Bimo, JB completed the production process of his song and music video in a short time.

"Just a moment, about 2 months, the music video was done in 1 week," said Ian Barus, the songwriter.

Bimo mentioned that the song selection process went through many considerations. Out of the three songs offered, JB immediately connected with one Malay pop song.

"There were initially 3 songs, but none were okay. So I let him choose the song. He liked the Malay pop. At that time, he sang 4 selected songs, then I gave him one song, no more choosing," said Bimo.

2. Loves Singing Since Childhood

JB himself admitted that he has loved singing since he was a child, although he has never pursued it professionally until now. He feels comfortable in the Malay pop genre he has chosen.

"Basically, I have always loved singing from the start. DJ was never on my mind. I loved singing since I was in the village but wasn't professional yet," said JB.

3. Supported by Big Names in the Music World

Big names contributed to the production of this single, such as Benny Mihing, former guitarist of The Winner, and Iyan Barus, who is also well-known in the local music industry.

"Our hope is that my debut single can be accepted by all music lovers in Indonesia," concluded JB.
