ICEBOX, a Platform for Musicians to Collaborate Across Genres Amidst the Pandemic

"ICEBOX is designed to be a new and different stage for musicians to create. Starting from music production, cross-genre music collaboration, live performances, creating creative content, and promotion can all be done under one platform called ICEBOX," said Iceperience.id representative, Sigit Diapsoputra.

1. Initial ICEBOX Project

Starting their first project, ICEBOX recently launched a collaborative work between music producer and multi-talented DJ Alffy Rev with Manshur Praditya, a contemporary musician who expresses his passion for the traditional angklung instrument.

The combination of the two resulted in a unique modern music composition, blending Alffy Rev's distinctive electronic dance music (EDM) beats with Manshur's ethnic angklung notations.

2. Various Collaborations

In addition to Alffy Rev x Manshur, ICEBOX's debut collaborative work also features a collaboration between Vicky Mono Burgerkill and DJ Sihk. Vicky, with his metalcore style, provides the vocal pull in the beats produced by DJ Sihk.

"ICEBOX proves that music cannot be confined to a single genre. Music is like a vast area where everything can be combined, such as metalcore and dubstep or electronic and ethnic music, and this can create something new," explains Vicky.

3. Provide a Platform for All Musicians

Sigit Diapsoputra explained that ICEBOX is not only intended for seasoned musicians, those who are just starting their careers are also welcome as long as their creative concept and music material to be produced are original and have electronic music elements.

Afterwards, the ICEBOX curator team, consisting of experienced musicians, will curate each proposed concept and determine the production process and scheme. Each process will ultimately lead to digital promotion conducted by Iceperience.Id.

"ICEBOX has several programs that musicians can utilize to realize their concepts and works. This includes music live performances, music podcasts, and music collaborations. As the name suggests, each program concept is created to generate different experiences according to the concept embraced by each musician," said Diop.

4. ICEBOX Location

For now, ICEBOX Studio is located on Rangga Malela Street, Bandung. Every musician at ICEBOX can produce their music concept at that location. The production process at ICEBOX is still carried out with strict health protocols according to government recommendations.
