Jeremy Passion, Bernadya to Juicy Luicy Will Brighten the Stage of LPS Presents The 47th Jazz Goes To Campus 2024

Kapanlagi.com - Jazz Goes to Campus is an annual international jazz festival organized by students of the Faculty of Economics & Business at the University of Indonesia. This jazz music festival features various local and international musicians and is attended by thousands of spectators.

A series of pre-events such as UI Roadshow, Workshop & Community Night, and Cheers at Melawai have been successfully held. The highlight, the Press Conference & Sarinah Jazz Night with the theme Jazz in the Modern Symphony: Shaping Soundscapes and Embracing Diversity, was also successfully held on September 21, 2024.

Jazz Goes to Campus is now supported by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) as the main sponsor. This music event has officially changed its name to LPS Presents the 47th Jazz Goes to Campus with the theme Weaving Jazz In Every Symphony. In addition to supporting new local artists, LPS's support for JGTC is also part of LPS's strategy to support Indonesia's creative economy.

2. JGTC As The Oldest Festival in Indonesia

LPS Presents The 47th Jazz Goes to Campus is the oldest jazz music festival that has been held since 1977 at the UI Salemba campus and is fully organized by active students of FEB UI. Candra Darusman explained that the success of this festival has a significant impact on the business sector, academia, government, media, and community. He also emphasized that although there have been many changes in the jazz music genre, the essence of jazz remains unchanged.

A representative of the Indonesian Jazz Forum, Chico Hindarto, revealed that this forum was initially established to schedule jazz events in Indonesia to avoid conflicts. As the forum developed, JGTC successfully collaborated with foreign cultures and became one of the largest jazz music events in Indonesia.

3. A Sustainable and Continuously Evolving Festival

Candra Darusman as Co-Founder of JGTC emphasizes that this festival is not only sustainable but also continuously evolving. Starting from a small stage in 1977 to now having four large stages with nearly 10,000 attendees. In 2024, LPS Presents The 47th JGTC will also maximize the festival experience by providing comfortable facilities, including shuttle buses from parking to the venue.

4. JGTC Performer Line Up

This festival will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia. This year, JGTC collaborates with several local and international musicians, such as:
