Joyland Festival Jakarta 2024 Reveals Exciting Names That Will Perform, Featuring Collaboration Between Hyukoh & Sunset Rollercoaster

Kapanlagi.com - Joyland Festival Jakarta will be held on November 22-24, 2024. Plainsong Live has announced the third and final phase of artists and attractions that will make the GBK Baseball Stadium in Senayan, Jakarta a must-visit place for music lovers from Indonesia and abroad.

Following St. Vincent, AIR, Bombay Bicycle Club and other names that have been previously announced, the fusion of South Korean and Taiwanese indie rock between Hyukoh & Sunset Rollercoaster will enliven Saturday night as the main stars. Their joint performance will feature songs such as Young Man, Glue and Antenna from AAA, their collaboration album released last July. Additionally, there will be classic songs from each of their repertoires such as TOMBOY and Comes and Goes by Hyukoh and of course Vanilla and My Jinji by Sunset Rollercoaster. Joining from abroad to enliven the Joyland Festival Jakarta 2024 is Khun Narin’s Electric Phin Band from Phetchabun, Thailand, which blends psychedelic rock with Thai folk music; the electronic music trio Idiotape from Seoul, South Korea; Cami Laye Okun, a tropical music DJ born in Cuba who now resides in France; Danniella Dee, a roots reggae DJ from Coventry, England, who is also part of the dub sound system trio Sisters in Dub; and Habibi Funk, a Middle Eastern music DJ from Berlin, Germany, who is also the founder of a record label of the same name.

These five names are among the artists who will perform on the Lily Pad Stage, which this year is curated by White Shoes & The Couples Company (WSATCC), a long-time artistic collaborator of the Joyland Festival that will also perform. "In curating the Lily Pad stage, we want to share joy and artistic ideas," said the indie pop sextet from Jakarta.

"We chose friends and networks that we have met during the journey of White Shoes & The Couples Company, selected newcomers, and those who have musical references, authenticity, energy, and spirit that we admire," they added.

The selections of White Shoes & The Couples Company for the Lily Pad Stage – designed as a stage for band performances and a bar for DJ acts – will also showcase Indonesian talents, including Asa Kusumah, Bosborot, The Cottons, Drizzly, Jeslla, Plastic, and Prontaxan. Meanwhile, the rock giant from Jakarta, .FEAST, will perform for the first time at the Joyland Festival, adding another strong lineup of national performers.

2. For White Peacock

Meanwhile, the family activity area of White Peacock has experienced its largest expansion to date by occupying the Indoor Tennis Stadium and presenting a variety of fun programs, including art journal collage-making classes, mobile phone string creations from recycled materials, as well as sewing and painting Japanese-style book covers. Young children at White Peacock will also be invited to play by several prominent musicians, such as Sal Priadi who will read fairy tales, Maliq & D’Essentials who will lead sing-alongs, and Apri Mela Prawidiyanti from White Shoes & The Couples Company who will guide a choir from HighScope elementary school.

"With a very spacious area, we have added new features such as a toddler area, a larger breastfeeding room, and more spacious places for classes and other activities that can be attended by children, teenagers, and adults," said Lintang Sunarta, curator of White Peacock.

3. Outdoor Cinema and Joyland Collection Launch

In addition to the outdoor cinema Cinerillaz curated by renowned screenwriter and director Joko Anwar, which will screen short films that have previously been shown at prestigious international festivals; a variety of local food and products available at Joyland Village Foods & Goods Market; the final round of the chess tournament, Joyland Checkmate!; and much more. It seems this will be the most festive edition of the Joyland Festival Jakarta so far.
