Macklemore Creates Pro-Palestine Protest Support Song Titled 'Hind's Hall', Criticizes Joe Biden and Drake!

American rapper, Macklemore, has released a support song for the Palestinian people titled Hind's Hall. The title is inspired by a building at Columbia University that was recently renamed by protesting students.

This name change was made to honor Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed in the conflict in Palestine. Macklemore plans to donate all proceeds from streaming the song Hind's Hall to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

1. Inspired by Lebanese Singer

The song Hind's Hall takes samples from a song by Lebanese musician Fairuz, titled Ana La Habibi. The music video for this song showcases pro-Palestinian student protesters, politicians, and clips of the war in Gaza.

Macklemore addresses various issues such as American politics, capitalists, social media restrictions like TikTok in America, and white supremacy all within three minutes in the song Hind's Hall.

2. Satirizing Joe Biden and Drake

In the lyrics of the song Hind's Hall, Macklemore mentions American politician Joe Biden and states that he will not vote for him in the presidential election in November. "The blood is on your hands Biden/We can see it all/ and f*** no, I'm not voting for you in the fall".

Macklemore also satirizes his fellow musicians, such as the ongoing feud between hip-hop artists Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which receives more attention on social media than the war in Gaza. He says, "I want a cease-fire/Fuck a response from Drake." According to Macklemore, many musicians are not vocal about the issue of Palestine, as expressed in the lyrics, "Never be defeated when freedom's on the horizon/Yet the music industry's quiet/Complicit in their platform of silence".

Macklemore also challenges the speculation that support for Palestine is anti-Semitic in the lyrics, "We see the lies in them/Claiming it's anti-Semitic to be anti-Zionist/I've seen Jewish brothers and sisters out there and riding/in solidarity and screaming Free Palestine with 'em/Organizing unlearning".

3. Song for the Freedom of the Palestinian People

Macklemore criticizes the status quo and calls for peace are seen as a threat. "The people, they won't leave/What is threatening about divesting and wanting peace?/The problem isn't the protest, it's what they're protesting/it goes against what our country is funding/Block the barricade until Palestine is free."

Throughout the song, Macklemore continues to voice his thoughts on the Israel and Hamas conflict. He calls attention to law enforcement in handling this conflict "Actors in badges protecting property/ And a system that was designed by white supremacy/ But the people are in the streets/ You can pay off Meta, you can't pay off me."

He also invites his listeners to stand up for justice in solidarity with Palestine. Macklemore also praises anyone who has taken part in such actions "What you willing to risk?/ What you willing to give?/ What if you were in Gaza?/ What if those were your kids?" and "You'd want the world to stand up/ And the students finally did."
