Mirza W Soenarto Launches Collaboration Single with the Late Glenn Fredly Titled 'Working for the Nation', Healing Longing

Kapanlagi.com - Glenn Fredly may have passed away. Nevertheless, his ideas and humanitarian spirit, togetherness above differences, caring for each other, and motivating future generations to remain productive, still exist through his voice and great works.

This is what can be heard through his latest song, Berkarya untuk Negeri, released on September 10, 2021. Collaborating with Mirza W. Soenarto, this nationalistic song attempts to convey a strong message to the Indonesian society.

“I actually wrote this song quite a while ago, around early 2017,” Mirza recalled. “Then on one occasion, Glenn heard the song, and he was enthusiastic and even offered to sing it. I was really happy. It's truly an honor for me,” he continued.

This material was then re-recorded at MW Music Studio Jakarta, and assisted by several musicians in the process. One of them is Andre Dinuth, who served as the producer of this song with arrangements that incorporate orchestral nuances.

“Dinuth also helped from the beginning. He produced and assisted in rearranging this song,” said Mirza.

In the Indonesian music industry, the name Mirza W. Soenarto is still relatively new, considering that his actual profession is an entrepreneur and a professional in various fields. 

“To be honest, I am not a professional musician. For me, music is still just a hobby that brings balance to life and entertains the mood. As a music enthusiast, I feel very grateful to have the courage to create my own songs,” he said.

Although he claims not to be a professional musician, Mirza is productive in songwriting. He has written at least a dozen songs that are ready to be released soon with various musicians.

Through this song, Mirza hopes to bring a new spirit to listeners and at the same time heal the longing for the late Glenn Fredly. The song "Berkarya untuk Negeri" (Creating for the Nation) can already be enjoyed on all digital music platforms, and its music video can be watched on MWRecords' Youtube channel.
