Not Just Nostalgia, Lukman Says Peterpan Concert Introduces Ariel's Work to a New Generation

The guitarist of Peterpan, Lukman, emphasizes that this concert is not just an ordinary music performance. According to him, it is a stage to celebrate the great songs that have not been heard live for a long time.

"Yes, so this is not just a performance. You could say we want to introduce Ariel's songs that we all acknowledge are good in terms of lyrics or whatever," said Lukman when met at Studio Sepat, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Wednesday (20/8/2025).

1. The New Color

By collaborating with a number of cross-generational singers, he hopes the essence of these songs can be conveyed with a new color. He is very enthusiastic about being able to perform the legendary works of Peterpan again.

"So we really want this, a masterpiece of Ariel's work, Peterpan's work, as Budi mentioned earlier, performed by cross-generational artists," he added.

Lukman feels that many of Peterpan's songs are still very relevant to today's era, even though they were created many years ago. He wants to prove that these works are timeless.

"From the millennials back then, we created this, we want to introduce this song to the current generation," he explained.

3. Becoming a Bridge

Therefore, he and his colleagues hope that this concert can serve as a bridge connecting old and new listeners. For him, this is a way to ensure that these works remain alive and enjoyed.

"What I think, according to all of us, is still relatable to the present time," he concluded.
