Kapanlagi.com - The band Dewa 19 will hold a concert again, this time Ahmad Dhani and his friends will not perform their hit songs. In the concert titled Tribute to Queen, Dewa 19 will perform 21 songs by Queen.
"This is a music concert based on a hobby. If it weren't for the hobby, I think it would be quite difficult for a band to play 21 songs that are not our own. Those are songs by another band, Queen," said Ahmad Dhani in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, on Friday (2/8) last week.
Dewa 19 will invite American musician Jeff Scott Soto to be the vocalist. Jeff admitted that he is indeed a fan of Queen.
"Honestly, I really like Queen. We are huge fans of Queen, in fact, I am a fanatic fan. Yes, everyone can go crazy when talking about Queen. So do I and Ahmad Dhani. That's why this show came together," said Jeff Scott Soto.

Before deciding to invite Jeff, the husband of Mulan Jameela had conducted auditions. However, in the end, Jeff was chosen to sing songs from Queen.
"At that time we had auditions. So there was Ari Lasso, Ello, Virzha, Once, and Jeff. The only ones who spoke English correctly were Jeff and Li Lo," said Ahmad Dhani.
In fact, Ahmad Dhani mentioned that the former vocalist of Dewa 19, Once Mekel, is very suitable for performing Queen's songs. However, due to various reasons, Jeff was ultimately chosen.
"Actually, Once could sing Queen's songs but he didn’t want to band with us," explained the father of Al Ghazali.
The concert itself is planned to be held twice. First in Jakarta on August 4, 2024, precisely at The H Club SCBD, and in Jogja on August 7, 2024. As for the tickets, they will be priced at Rp 1 million.
