RAN Releases New Double Single! Showcases and Tells a Love Triangle in Its Music Video

The music group RAN has just launched a music video for their latest double single, Rahasia #1 and Rahasia #2, from the album Teater Nestapa. These two videos feature Claresta Taufan, Morgan Oey, and Jourdy Pranata, and tell the story of a woman who is already in a relationship but is attracted to another man.

The music video for Rahasia #1 follows the story of Asa (played by Claresta Taufan) who is faced with the dilemma of being faithful to Sahid (Jourdy Pranata) or opening her heart to Rana (Morgan Oey). Meanwhile, Rahasia #2 focuses on Rana's feelings, depicting the inner drama he experiences, before concluding with a dance number. Both music videos are interconnected and start with a monologue that sets the tone of the story.

According to Nino from RAN, this double single depicts the secrets that arise in a love triangle. He explains that love is not always simple, especially in long-established relationships, where inner conflicts often arise, such as attraction to someone else. Rayi from RAN adds that Rahasia #1 tells the story of the temptation to engage with someone else, while Rahasia #2 provides the perspective of Rana who feels like a "secret" in that relationship

Aco Tenri acts as the director and writer for the music videos Secret #1 and Secret #2. With extensive experience in producing many music videos, Aco feels that this time the production process is easier visually because the song lyrics already tell the story.

However, he also faced challenges because he had to create three interconnected videos. "The experiment is in the form," Aco revealed.

Aco also explained that he deliberately chose actors who have dancing skills to star in this music video. Claresta Taufan, Morgan Oey, and Jourdy Pranata were selected based on that criterion.

Claresta is widely known from the film BADARAWUHI, possessing dancing skills as well as good acting ability. Morgan, who comes from a boy band, easily absorbs the scenes created by the choreographer.

Aco needs one versatile actor to add dynamics, and Jourdy is considered suitable because he has a wide acting range. This music video serves as an introduction to RAN's sixth album titled Teater Nestapa, which is scheduled for release in October 2024.

This album marks RAN's return with a full-length format after the last eight years during which they only released a few singles.

Nino RAN explained that the concept of this new album is quite unique. RAN has been known as a cheerful and colorful music group, but now they present an album titled Teater Nestapa, which reflects the opposite side of what the public knows.
