Release 'Katakanlah', Maira Muthma: If You Like Someone, Just Say It!

Kapanlagi.com - After releasing two singles titled Tak Semanis Dulu (Not as Sweet as Before) and Salah Waktu (Wrong Time), this time Maira Muthma releases her third single. Created by Lisa Walean and produced by Kenny Gabriel, Maira releases Katakanlah (Say It) under the auspices of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia.

Maira admitted that she fell in love with Katakanlah when she first heard it. According to her, Katakanlah is very different from her previous two singles that were released.

"Kak Lisa gave this song to the A&R team at Sony Music when we were looking for my third single. As soon as I heard it, I liked it because it is very different from my previous two songs, from the arrangement, melody, to the lyrics made more modern even though it still takes on the pop genre," she said when met in South Jakarta area not long ago.

Still about love, Let's say it's about how someone should directly express their love if they are already interested in someone. Don't let, when it's too late to confess love, regret arises.

"Compared to my two previous songs, this time I bring up the situation when we really like someone and this person seems to show signs of being interested too, but they never say anything," she explained.

"So, this song is like encouragement for people to be braver in expressing their feelings. I believe that this situation is quite relatable and surely everyone has experienced it. So, the message I want to convey through this song is if you like someone, just say it," she continued.

2. Fun Moments

Working together with Lisa Walean and Kenny Gabriel was a fun moment for this graduate of Bina Nusantara University's Visual Design and Communication department.

"Collaborating with Kak Lisa and being produced by Kak Kenny was truly exciting and refreshing because my previous two songs had a similar theme, while this one is very different. Kak Lisa always gives me encouragement and motivation to be more confident in doing something, like writing my own songs. The process of creating this single itself took six months, starting from receiving the song in September 2023 until it was ready for release in March 2024," she said.

3. Cheerful and Exciting

Maira certainly hopes that her third single will be well received, just like her previous two songs.

"Because it has a happy, cheerful, and exciting vibe, this song can be a differentiator in the music industry. For example, when we don't want to listen to sad songs and need a song that lifts our spirits, 'Katakanlah' can be an alternative and encourage those who hesitate to express their feelings to be bolder," she hopes.

Maira Muthma's third single, 'Katakanlah,' can be heard on digital music platforms starting from March 29, 2024.
