Kapanlagi.com - Mayang Lucyana is solidifying her presence in the Indonesian music scene by forming a band called Mayang Voice Band (MVB). Their latest work, an EP or mini album titled 'Story of Love,' was released in response to criticism from netizens.
"I have been criticized and insulted, but I have never responded. My silence doesn't mean I am depressed or stressed. Instead, their criticism motivates me to achieve more," said Mayang in Buncit Area, South Jakarta, on Friday (15/12/2023).
Mayang revealed that this mini album is a proof of netizens' mockery towards her. Despite being frequently criticized and insulted, Mayang explained that her silence doesn't mean she is depressed or stressed. On the contrary, the criticism serves as motivation for her to continue creating.
"If they think I am down, I have never been down. Moreover, this MVB mini album is a proof to haters that I have my own work," she said.

MVB brings six songs with a pop rock vibe from the 2000s, inspired by the music of Avril Lavigne, The Cranberries, and Paramore. Interestingly, they released this album as a result of a long struggle and a difficult process.
"After a long wait, finally MVB's debut album can be released on December 15th. It was a long process with a difficult struggle, and we are grateful that it can be released," said Mayang.
"Hatiku Hanyalah Untukmu" was chosen as the lead single. The song tells the story of a couple who are in the 'bucin' phase (being infatuated with each other). Mayang revealed that this song was created by a former member of MVB, adding an emotional dimension to the story.
"This song tells the story of a couple who are deeply infatuated. He feels lucky to have a sincere girlfriend," she said.
"The guy always helps the girl, and the girl can't turn away because this guy is considered her destiny," said Mayang.
Mayang also plans to promote the songs from this mini album through tours and concerts, always performing all six songs. They will also utilize digital platforms to reach more listeners.
"We are promoting this song, we will have tours, concerts, and always perform 6 songs from our mini album. Of course, also with digital platforms," concluded Mayang.
In the band formation consisting of Mayang as the vocalist and guitarist, Izal as the lead guitarist, Ajeng as the bassist, Fifi as the keyboardist, and Devi as the drummer.
MVB hopes that their debut album will be well received by listeners. This album is available on various digital streaming platforms released by AFE RECORDS.
