The singer of 'Takkan Terganti' is currently busy preparing a special concept for his performance on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. One of them, he will play music from his album This Is Not Jazz.

"This is going to be exciting because I will present an unusual concept from the usual and there will be many adjustments according to the theme. Well, I want it to be very jazz, because before this I had an album called This Is Not Jazz which has a jazz standard theme, but the arrangement is different," said Marcell after the press conference of the Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2020 in Jakarta, (15/1) Wednesday afternoon.

In addition, the 42-year-old man also expressed his views on music festivals like Java Jazz. According to him, the festival could be a bridge to introduce jazz music to someone who is not familiar with jazz music at all, especially since jazz music itself is still not widely popular among young people.

"I see Java Jazz as a festival that ultimately has diverse genres, not just jazz alone, because if it's just standard jazz, honestly not many people would come. We just have to make sure that this festival is different and people who come must see it," he said.

Not only that, According to Marcell Java Jazz Festival is not just about showcasing certain people, but also building networks and educating the audience who will be present.

"Yes, this is one way to build a bridge from those who don't like jazz, suddenly become fond of jazz. But of course, to call them to come, we have to bring in the musicians they like first," he said.

In addition to Marcell Siahaan, BNI Java Jazz Festival 2020 also presents The Jacksons and Omar Apollo as special shows, and of course there are still many top musicians from both domestic and foreign countries who will enliven the event. Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2020 is held in collaboration with Java Production Festival, Avrist, and BNI, the event will take place for three days on February 28, 29, and March 1, 2020 at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta.
