Kapanlagi.com - The Jacksons and Omar Apollo will be special guests at the Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2020 which will be held from February 28 to March 1 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
The legendary music group consisting of Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, and Marlon Jackson will perform on the second day of JJF 2020, specifically on Saturday, February 29, 2020. The performances of the singers of I Want You Back are also in celebration of their 50 years in the industry.
Besides The Jacksons, there is also Omar Apollo who is one of the musicians currently popular among young people, also participating in JFF 2020 on March 1st. Omar Apollo writes songs from various genres such as jazz, R&B, funk, soul, and pop.
"Coincidentally, The Jacksons are currently touring many countries for their 50th anniversary. Meanwhile, Omar Apollo is a rising star artist whom we really want to showcase in JJF 2020," said Dewi Gontha, President Director of Java Festival Production, during a press conference at The Terrace Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/1) afternoon.
This year, Java Jazz adopts the theme Redeem Yourself Through Music. According to Dewi, this theme stems from the idea that every human needs something to momentarily distract themselves from the many things happening in life.
"We hope this festival can be a place where everyone can spend their time watching sensational performances and not just come to enjoy the music that has been presented," said Dewi.
In addition to the two names above, at BNI Java Jazz 2020 there will also be many musicians from Indonesia and abroad such as Benny Mustafa N Jongens, Dwiki Dharmawan feat Nadin Amizah, Jay Som, Jeff Lorber Fusion Trio (Jeff, Jimmy Haslip, Gary Novak), KRLY, Maya Hasan, Michael Paulo & Gregg Karukas feat Melissa Manchester, Michael White, MLDJAZZPROJECT ALL Star feat Devinta and Moneva.
There are also Arta (ICINC), MLDJAZZPROJECT S4 Feat. Potret, Fariz RM & Humania, Nita Aartsen Quintet, Nusantero, Pamungkas, Paulinho Garcia, Phil Perry, RINI, Ron King Big Band, The Steve McQueens, United States Air Force Band of the Pacific and Yongky Vincent.
