Sunset in Bogor Botanical Gardens Presents Education on Nature Conservation, Featuring Raisa and Efek Rumah Kaca

Kapanlagi.com - This year's Sunset in the Garden has entered its second phase and was held at the Bogor Botanical Gardens on August 3 and 4, 2024. For those who don't know, Sunset in the Garden is a music performance program that is an intimate show conveying messages of conservation and love for the environment.

The presence of Sunset in the Bogor Botanical Gardens follows the success of Sunset in Purwodadi Botanical Gardens, Bogor Botanical Gardens, Bali Botanical Gardens, and Cibodas Botanical Gardens in March, April, May, and June 2024. In addition to enjoying the music concert, the audience is also invited to explore the green areas of the Botanical Gardens.

The Botanical Gardens are a center for plant conservation that also serves as an educational tourism site rich in the biodiversity education of Indonesia. On the other hand, the existence of the Botanical Gardens is also expected to spark a love for the environment.

1. Featuring Raisa, Reality Club to Efek Rumah Kaca

Sunset at Bogor Botanical Gardens this time features several line-ups divided into two days of performances. They take turns performing from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM WIB.

On the first day, there are performances by Raisa, Reality Club, Efek Rumah Kaca, Sal Priadi, and Vikri and My Magic Friend. Meanwhile, on the second day, there are Juicy Luicy, Parade Hujan, Feby Putri, Kunto Aji, and Flypay.

"Sunset at the Garden is held to invite the younger generation to get to know nature better, to introduce the flora present in the Botanical Gardens. In addition, the implementation of this event is expected to introduce the Botanical Gardens as a comfortable location and a potential edutourism destination," said the General Manager of Botanical Gardens Events, Abi Irawan.

Abi added that Sunset at the Garden presents a performance with a combination of open nature, harmonious music, and intimacy between musicians and fans, which becomes its own attraction. Sunset at the Garden not only showcases the beauty of the Botanical Gardens but also presents several environmental care programs.

"What distinguishes Sunset at the Garden from other performances is the theme of an intimate music show with green, conservation, and cultural movement. The audience will be invited to a closer atmosphere with their favorite musicians, creating a more intimate ambiance, allowing the audience to relax and enjoy deeper musical melodies, and even the musicians will mingle with the audience in the cool atmosphere of the Botanical Gardens in the evening," said Abi Irawan.

2. Natura Program

In addition to the music performances, Sunset di Kebun also features a sub-program titled Natura. Natura is an area that invites the audience to explore green spaces by playing and learning in the open air. The Natura area offers a variety of interesting, interactive, educational, and creative activities that will provide a new experience for visitors, including a colorful area, assembling, leaf storytelling, singing plants, cultural parade, live painting, flower arranging, and educational classes.

The Natura program at Sunset di Kebun Raya Bogor this time will consist of Educational Class activities & Tour de Kebun Raya. The Terrarium Educational Class aims to introduce and teach how to plant in transparent containers arranged to make them more visually appealing. The plants used in making the terrarium are the plant heroes, namely Bucephalandra. This plant is popular as an aquascape plant and is known as 'Buce' among its enthusiasts. The audience will learn how to create a tropical-themed terrarium with Bucephalandra. Visitors will also explore the Bogor Botanical Gardens to learn more about its history and beauty.

In addition, there is also a singing plant, an interactive area from an installation of plants that can produce sounds in the form of notes that can be arranged into a musical melody. The Singing Plant utilizes Biodata Sonification to translate the energy received from the plants into a converter and become a MIDI Signal that can be understood by musical instruments.

Another interesting activity at Natura is Colorful, which is an area created for self-expression through colorful objects and media. Colorful aims to provide space for visitors to channel their creativity in exploring, experimenting, and discovering beauty in the colorful aspects of life.

Another equally interesting activity is flower arrangement, a program aimed at providing knowledge and teaching visitors skills in the art of creating beautiful flower arrangements.

Another activity is assembling, a program designed to train skills and sharpen the creativity of #SunsetPeople by creating a work of art. #SunsetPeople can create a beautiful souvenir from their own handiwork.

Additionally, there is a Tutur Daur activity, an educational and creative program to transform waste or unused items into works of art and valuable goods. This program aims to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation by reducing, recycling, reusing, and providing creative solutions to address waste and unused items.

For visitors coming with children, there are several kids' activities such as throw ball. Throw Ball is an exciting and fun play area designed for visitors, especially children. Children will learn to throw balls into holes, compete in mini-games, and have the chance to win exciting prizes.

Not only that, there is also a live painting activity. Live painting is a performance of creating art live, inspired by biodiversity and the beauty of the Botanical Gardens, and represents the life of the plants found in the Botanical Gardens.

In the Natura area, there is also a pop-up market, a creative market in an area that serves as a platform to enhance creative economic activities, and as a means for local brands to develop and introduce local products. Natura activities start from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM WIB.

In addition to the Natura program, there are several other series of activities that align with the sub-program of Sunset in the Garden, namely Culture, Conservation, and Lesstari. The Culture program aims to highlight the cultural aspects during the Sunset in the Garden by preserving local cultural wisdom through music or dance, adapting and surviving amidst the onslaught of modernity that is increasingly developing. Sunset in the Garden collaborates with local art studios in each of its implementations.

Meanwhile, the conservation program is one of the five functions of the Botanical Garden and serves as the initial initiative for organizing Sunset in the Garden. The goal of this program is to introduce the importance of the Botanical Garden as an ecosystem that must be preserved and to encourage the younger generation to remain concerned about the Flora ecosystem.

As for the Lesstari program, it is derived from the adjective Less, meaning to reduce, and Lestari, meaning sustainability. Lesstari is a sustainability program that emphasizes the principle of reducing negative impacts on the environment to ensure the continuity of life. Through the Lesstari program, Sunset in the Garden invites the audience to minimize negative impacts, one of which is the negative impact of waste on the environment.

3. Diverse Culinary

Sunset at the Garden is incomplete without culinary delights. Several F&B tenants, non-F&B tenants, and tenants from the Botanical Garden also provide food booths with signature menus, namely Sunset Punch and Chicken Pops. For Sunset Punch, there are two flavor options, strawberry and pineapple. Meanwhile, Chicken Pops also consists of two flavor options, garlic and chili mayo.

In addition, there are other tenants such as Demie Bakmie, Haus, Chasa Bean Bag, Dumpling Mertua, Tomyum Tomtam, Bakmi Hao Peng 111, Cassabi, Belenger Pisang, Moshi Mochi, Beri Kado, and Photoria box. 4. About the Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden is under the auspices of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in partnership with PT. Mitra Natura Raya (KebunRaya.id) in a public service partnership since January 1, 2020. This partnership is a strategic synergy where BRIN can carry out its main functions in research and plant conservation, while KebunRaya.id is tasked with providing various public service functions in accordance with the functions and pillars of the botanical garden, namely conveying educational messages and environmental conservation to the wider community in a language that is in line with the times.

The Botanical Garden has five functions, namely conservation, education, tourism, research, and environmental services. The Sunset program in this garden was created as an extension of these five functions. This program is conducted as a platform to educate young people about conservation by introducing plant heroes at each event through the language of music and other programs. This time, the plant hero is the Bucephalandra. Bucephalandra is a type of native Indonesian plant that belongs to aquatic plants. Uniquely, this plant has leaves shaped like bull horns, and some of its species have an iridescent sheen that reflects beautiful colors when illuminated by light.
